Camp Facilities
The main lodge, the principle
gathering place of the camp, is 40X110 feet in size. About
two-thirds of the building is the main room with a huge
fieldstone fireplace and tables and chairs for about 225
people. This room is used for dining, meetings,
and rainy-day activities as well as a gathering place in
the evening to chat or watch TV. The building is
fully equipped with modern restrooms, shower, laundry,
loft equipped for office space, and a full basement
which can be used for staff members. A generous
patio at the south end of the building has a large
Bar-B-Q grill and several picnic tables. The
Kitchen is fully equipped with work tables, sinks, steam
tables, dishwasher, stoves and ovens, ice
machine, ice cream maker, and walk-in freezer and cooler.
Campers are quartered
in two dormitory-style buildings, each 40X80 feet in
size. Each contains four bedrooms of sixteen person
capacity. At the end of each bedroom are smaller
bedrooms to accommodate up to four counselors. Each
building has two bathrooms, with sinks, flush toilets,
showers, and tub. There is also a large general meeting
room in each. The buildings are insulated for
year-round use, and are heated by gas. Concrete walks
connect the buildings to the main lodge for all weather
use.
An A-frame Chapel is
offered. It seats about 140 persons and is furnished
with an organ, piano, and lectern. Stained glass
windows grace the east and west walls of the building.
The building is gas heated.
A multi-purpose building is also available with sleeping
accommodations for nurses, staff members, and campers.
The building contains two full baths and a small
kitchen. One of the larger rooms can be used as a
meeting room, if necessary.
There is a ramada
designed for picnics and other outdoor activities. It is lighted, has men’s and
ladies toilets, running water, Bar-B-Q grill, cement
floor, and picnic tables. Parking and play areas are
adjacent.
